Membership Outreach Committee
The Membership Outreach Committee, a sub-committee of the Membership Services Committee:
- works closely with the Districts and planning schools to identify potential members;
- oversees an Executive Outreach Program to attract members who have been practising for more than 20 years;
- acts as liaison to the student delegate on Council;
- meets with the university student delegate representatives;
- co-ordinates the student scholarship program, the election of the student delegate, and the student day at the OPPI conference.
Committee members together establish a multi-year plan describing the goals, outcomes, and action plans for outreach. The Institute has identified several groups of potential members:
- university students at recognized schools of planning;
- students eligible for provisional membership;
- high school students considering the profession of planning;
- non-member practising planners.
