As an experienced professional you understand that effective Project Management required expertise in planning, prioritizing, scheduling, budgeting, negotiating, organizing, controlling, managing change, motivating, coaching, and refereeing.

Project Management topics covered will include:

  • Project teams and leadership.
  • Risk and issue management.
  • Communication plans.
  • Understanding how to manage: scope, schedule and costs.
  • Being proactive and nimble while managing a project to completion.
  • Conducting an appropriate follow-up analysis upon project completion.
  • Handing over the deliverables and processes (if appropriate) to operations.

The Ontario Professional Planners Institute is pleased to announce the launch of the new Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) e-learning course - Project Management for Planners.

This course has been designed for planners who are not able to attend the classroom based-project management course or who would like to take the course from the comforts of their own home or office.

You should consider enrolling in this course if:

  • You are looking to learn basic project management skills.
  • You are interested in learning about and downloading project management tools and templates.
  • You are required to manage various sized projects and you want to be more effective in your role.

Project management topics that will be covered in this course include:

  • The project life cycle (project initiation, planning, execution, and closing).
  • Risk and issue management.
  • Communication plans.
  • Understanding how to manage: scope, schedule and costs.
  • Conducting an appropriate follow-up analysis upon project completion.
